About the Artist

Wendy Trattner is an emerging abstract artist based in San Francisco.

Wendy’s artistic journey began at age 7, when her father tragically ended her mother's life. This profound and confusing event ignited her quest for meaning through art and science. While painting and drawing as a lifelong emotional outlet, Wendy also embraced her passion for science and physics, graduating from MIT with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and dedicating her skills to sustainability and nature conservation technology.

Despite her success in engineering, art continually pulled at her, offering a competing worldview and mode of expression. Ultimately, her artistic calling prevailed—Wendy left her engineering career to devote herself fully to what she considers the purest form of fulfillment through creative expression.

Wendy's work has been showcased at The Drawing Room Gallery, Superfine Art Fair, Tartine Bakery, Chocolate & Art Show, Pancakes & Booze Art Show, and Art Battle events in Oakland and San Francisco. She actively participates in events and private fundraisers, using her art to promote positivity in the world.

About My Work

My work is a reflection of my deepest experiences—grieving the early loss of my parents, grappling with humanity’s destruction of nature, and celebrating the beauty of life and the universe. As a sensitive observer, I am compelled to create based on millions of influences, from the temperature of the room, to the quality of morning light, and most prominantly, my own thoughts and feelings. For me, painting is a meditative act, a process of finding peace while letting the world filter itself through my brush strokes.

I defy convention in my artistic approach, refusing to be confined to a single style or theme. Instead, I embrace a spectrum of possibilities. This diversity, though often criticized, is the essence of my artistic identity. Driven by an unyielding passion for expression, I continuously seek newness and creation, exploring the unique path that defines me as an artist.
